my story
From my home in the South Carolina Lowcountry, I create visual art and meditations from a life of abiding in Christ. Each piece is formed in prayer, shaped by imperfect hands, and offered as a reflection of love, joy, peace, and steadfast faithfulness - a quiet witness to living deeply and intentionally, whether on top of the mountain or in the shadow of the valley.
If you knew me personally, you would likely be met with a smile and a warm hug. I’m Michelle - a wife, a mother of two grown sons, a lover of the sea and the mountains, and a woman continually being formed by the life of Jesus.
Faith and family anchor my days, and I work from a home studio where light moves gently across paper and wood. It’s here that thought, prayer, and creation intertwine.
I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, where beauty felt abundant - in the mountains, the woods, and the quiet details of everyday life. My mother refined everything she touched; my father invited me into the wild. From them I inherited both a maker’s instinct and a reverence for the natural world - a heritage shaped by our Cherokee roots and southern soil.
As long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to paint, paper, pens, and journals - the quiet tools of making. For years, that love remained tucked away. When I finally allowed myself to pursue it fully, I discovered it wasn’t indulgence; it was obedience.
A spiritual awakening redirected my life in ways I could not have imagined. It did not change my love for beauty; it deepened it. What once felt like creative longing became an expression of worship.
My art, my writing, and my mentoring are not separate pursuits. They are responses - to grace, to truth, to the steady love of the Lord. Any beauty that flows from my hands is first His.
I don’t claim to have all the answers. I know weakness well. But I have come to trust His faithful love, and it is from that trust that I create.
If you find beauty here, I hope it nourishes you. If you linger, I hope it strengthens you. And if you walk this path alongside me, may it lead you ever closer to Him.
My work is rooted in southern heritage and shaped by a reflective inner life. I work primarily with water-based mediums on paper, wood, and natural materials, drawn to a clean, minimal aesthetic marked by generous negative space.
Restraint is intentional. Space allows breath. Space allows attention.
Collectors are often drawn to the quiet strength within the work - the balance of form and stillness. Each piece is created with prayerful intention and offered as an expression of devotion, meant to serve as a steady presence within a home.
My work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast, collected nationwide, and licensed in broader markets. Yet the truest measure of its success is whether it carries peace into the space where it dwells.
Thank you for stepping inside. May what you find here encourage you to live with intention, to see beauty as sacred, and to remain steady in abiding in every season.
